PROFILE

I grew up in a small town in Utah called Salem. My passion for music began when I started playing piano, beginning at age five.  

EXPERIENCE

The time I spent teaching piano was a tremendous opportunity for me to develop vital skills; how to convey the right messages to effectively instruct and educate students, but also how to develop my personal sense of responsibility, reliability, and self-management.

COMPOSER: “SAINTS AT WAR: VIETNAM”, OREM, UTAH; 2010
Saints At War: Vietnam is a documentary written and directed by independent film director Ryan Haldeman. It chronicles the experiences of Latter-Day Saints serving in the Vietnam war and relates them to their Christian faith. It was the first project I was paid for and the first published movie sold in stores which I was affiliated with.

COMPOSER: “2 HOURS”, SPANISH FORK, UTAH; 2010
2 Hours is a film on which I collaborated with director Michael Ballif. It was a no budget post-apocalyptic thriller short film. Despite its lack of financial backing, it has garnered very positive critical review. It was also nominated for Best Original Score by the Salty Horror Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah – home of the much respected Sundance Film Festival.

COMPOSER: “END OF AN EMPIRE”, OREM, UTAH; 2010-2012
End Of An Empire is a big budget, hollywood produced film currently in pre-production. I was given the opportunity to write music for the elements relating to pre-production, and scored to storyboards, animatics, interviews, and other behind-the-scenes material. Notable people involved in this project are Zach Thomson, who worked in the camera department for James Cameron’s Avatar, and Richard Taylor, founder and director of Weta Workshop and Weta Digital LLC – the brilliant special effects company whose work on The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, King Kong, Chronicles of Narnia, and The Hobbit trilogy has earned them multiple oscars.
